Working with Bourdieu’s Concepts
A BSA Bourdieu Study Group Event
24 January 2025
Manchester Metropolitan University, Business School BS1.22 (N Atrium)
Keynote Speakers
- Nicola Ingram (University College Cork)
- Sol Gamsu (University of Durham)
About the Event
Bourdieu's fecund nature and challenging intellect led him to be concerned with a number of fields or areas, giving his work appeal to sociologists with interests in a range of substantive issues. The most well known areas of inquiry include education and cultural consumption but his work has an extensive reach and encompasses areas such as art, literature, the economy, power, poverty, the family, gender and social class.
This event is aimed at doctoral students and early career researchers to provide support and facilitate scholarly discussion about Bourdieu’s concepts. However, we welcome researchers at any stage of their career.
There will also be an opportunity to network at this event.
