Climate Change Study Group

The study group was formed following the very successful BSA Presidential Debate ‘How to put society into climate change’ held at the British Library in February 2010.  As that event demonstrated, sociology has an increasingly important role to play in shaping and contributing to public and policy debate about climate change. The study group is active in promoting engagement with climate change and wider environmental challenges by sociologists, as well as highlighting the connections with other research areas and groups, such as health, families and relationships, and consumption. We engage in a range of activities to highlight excellent sociological research in this space and its importance in shaping and informing debates.
