Being, Becoming and Belonging: Exploring Diasporic Identities

A BSA Postgraduate Forum Regional Event

12 June 2024 (10am-5pm)
Doctoral College, Swan Room, 1.19, Elm Bank, Mile Lane, Coventry, CV1 2LQ (Hybrid)

About the Event

  • Guest speaker: Dr Ashley Cole (Coventry University)
  • Other guest speakers to be confirmed

Diasporic identity in the UK can be seen to represent communities that make up a multifaceted tapestry woven from the rich threads of diverse cultures and histories. The legacies of an on-going divisive and hostile political climate have challenged abilities of these communities to exist and resist. This event aims to celebrate the resilience and the enduring quest for cultural expression and the right to exist amidst the intricacies of contemporary British society.
