The British Sociological Association is a Registered Charity, charity number 1080235, founded in 1951 to promote sociology in the United Kingdom and beyond. We presently promote the identity of the discipline and enhance the context for the pursuit of sociology. We provide information and services to members and encourage links with sociologists throughout the world.
