As the sociological world is still mourning the loss of a great theorist, we have gone through our archives to find some unseen footage of Professor Bauman from the BSA 2012 Annual Conference.

In his plenary address 'Liquid modernity revisited', which was given before an audience of over 400 people, Professor Zygmunt Bauman reflected on the uncertainties of our times, and the role of sociology. This message is no less relevant now then it was in 2012. Watch this historic footage here.

Professor Bauman had a great relationship with the Association and we were honoured to have him speak at our conference in Leeds in 2012. The Association as a whole values his work and his years of dedication to the subject. We hope this video will continue to bring his thinking to many more sociologists for many years to come.
