BSA Early Career Conference Bursary Award

The BSA Early Career Forum (ECF) offers an award of up to £500 twice a year to BSA early career members to present a paper at a conference of their choosing. Applications are welcome at any time, but will only be considered by committee twice a year: to ensure timely consideration of your application we recommend submitting by 15 January and 30 June.

We know that early career members may be inhibited from applying to present at conferences due to lack of funding. This fund will allow members to acquire a bursary before submitting an abstract. The fund will be awarded based on the quality of the abstract and taking into account previous opportunities to present conference papers.

Applicants should outline the paper they hope to present (title and abstract) and include a copy of their CV with a list of previous conference papers delivered and other publications (where relevant).

Members are limited to one claim – if you have previously received funds, you are not eligible and your application will not be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You must be a fully paid member of the BSA.
  • You must have been a member of the BSA for 12 months prior to applying for this funding.
