Call for Papers/Installations
We are pleased to announce the call for papers/installations for the Summer 2025 Auto/Biography Study Group conference on the theme of Home. We welcome papers and presentations that respond to ‘home’ substantively, theoretically, methodologically and creatively. We also welcome ‘installation pieces’ which might include a poster, creative artefact(s), a short video or other.
The keynote will be given by Dr Jackie Goode who is a Visiting Fellow in Qualitative Methods in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Loughborough University. Jackie’s paper is entitled: ‘A Life in Seven Moves: Stories of Loss, Grief Work and Coming Home to Self’.
We invite abstract submissions (250 words) for 30/35-minute oral presentations followed by discussion and for installation pieces (there will be space in the programme for viewing and discussion of these). We are pleased to invite papers from across the broadest range of auto/biographical work, including ‘work-in-progress’ and those testing out innovative approaches, and welcome colleagues and friends from in and outside of the academy at all career stages. Please contact the organisers for further detail.
Please submit your abstract online. The abstract submission deadline is 5pm on 10 March 2025. Abstracts received after this date will not be considered.
Visit the BSA Auto/Biography Study Group for further details about the work of the group.
