About the Event

Societies are in more flux than ever. We are witnessing substantial geopolitical shifts and undoubtedly moving into a new era. Changes in governments and heads of state, global and local conflicts, social protest, populist political expansion, as well as economic, climate, humanitarian and sanitary crises are all coalescing in ways that affect communities and societies.

In this time of considerable social upheaval, how do sociologists understand what emerges from these events? Existing inequalities abound. Are new inequalities emerging? What new social narratives and ways of being are developing? How can we respond positively and critically to these challenges?

Sociology is a tool for hope and change, offering insights into as well as opening doors to social transformations. It is also one of the most dynamic academic disciplines, continually evolving to reflect the ever-changing landscape of society.

This conference will be a celebration of the work of sociology and the positive influence it has on individual lives and social transformations, exploring the nature of and responses to local and global challenges and changes in a supportive environment.

This is your chance to contribute to critical discourse on the profound transformations shaping our world. Engage with leading scholars, and network with peers who are equally passionate about understanding and influencing social change.

We look forward to welcoming you at the Conference.
