About the Event

The widespread development of artificial intelligence and algorithmic solutions is one of the most important contemporary phenomena, having an overwhelming impact on social and cultural life in the 21st Century.

This seminar will launch the new edited volume, Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence and Beyond: Theorising Society and Culture of the 21st Century, edited by D Brzeziński, K Filipek, K Piwowar, M Winiarska-Brodowska.

The book aims to discuss the consequences of the massive implementation of artificial intelligence and algorithmic solutions, with an emphasis on new ways of theorizing emerging social phenomena.

The event will be attended by the editors of the book, authors of selected chapters, as well as prominent researchers of contemporary algorithmisation as commentators.
