Nominations for the 2018 elections open on 19 February 2018. Deadline: Friday, 16 March 2018, 17:00 GMT
The BSA is seeking three new Trustees interested in taking up a role as a Public Engagement, Publications or Membership Services Director. We welcome members with the energy and desire to support their Association and make an impact on the discipline.
Trustees focus on three main business areas - governance, publications and conference & membership services. All Trustees are active in one of these areas and contribute to decision-making on all aspects of the Association, including conference speakers and fees, financial reserves and spending, journal editorship, resourcing of new projects and staffing. Trustees are expected to attend six Board and two Advisory Forum meetings a year to consult with the BSA constituencies discipline and make decisions for the Association. Training is provided to help Trustees understand the scope and responsibilities of their roles and to help them feel comfortable making decisions for the Association.
The BSA seeks to achieve a good balance of people in key positions with respect to equality and diversity. This year, we particularly welcome applications from women and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic members.
Applicants will be paid-up members and should be proposed by one other paid-up member. Nominees should refer to https://nom.ukevote.uk/bsa-board (where role descriptions and the application form can also be found). Forms should be submitted by Friday, 16 March 2018, 17:00 GMT.
If elected, you will become a Trustee of the Association as well as a company director. Applicants may find the following useful:
