Sociological research seeks to understand all aspects of human social behaviour, including the social dynamics of small groups of people, large organisations, communities, institutions and even entire societies. Each year there is a significant amount of sociological research is undertaken across the UK and beyond, and the BSA wishes to recognise those researchers and to extend its warmest congratulations to all who received their doctorate for sociological work in 2015 and 2016. You can see our current list online.
Is your name or university on the list? We are still accepting more names for our list of graduates - if you were a graduate in 2015 or will be this year, or your department's graduates are not listed, please email us with your name, thesis title, supervisor name(s), name of university and your convocation ceremony date (whether you attended or not).
We will update our website periodically and would love to recognise your achievements . If you are graduating or you know a very deserving graduate, please get in touch so that we can recognise the wealth of new sociological expertise.
Don’t forget that in 2017, some ECRs will qualify for the Concessionary membership rate. If you are within three years of graduation, not in full-time, permanent work and registered on the BSA PhD list, then you will be able to join the BSA at the Concessionary rate from October 2016 for the 2017 membership year.
