Call for Papers
The theme of the symposium will be ‘Exploring how sociology is being done in and about Scotland’. We invite submissions from scholars to present research that helps our sociological understanding of Scotland and/or that exhibits the range of work being done by sociologists in Scotland.
We welcome abstracts from scholars at all levels; from PhD students to established Professors. We are also keen to receive abstracts showing the importance of different theoretical perspectives, methodological innovations and original empirical research covering Scotland's past, present and future.
Each speaker will be allocated to a panel and will have 30 minutes (20 minutes presentation, 10 minutes open discussion).
Send abstracts (up to 250 words) to the organiser by Friday, 14 August.
Keynote Speaker
The keynote speaker will be the BSA President, Professor Les Back, speaking on New Ethnicities, Old Racisms in Glasgow.
