About
The ASMR Study Group aims to bring together scholars interested in grassroots politics, struggles for social justice, transformative socio-political change, and related topics. It seeks to advance the field of ASMR by providing a long-overdue and much-needed platform for intellectual community building, constructive feedback, collaborations, and the dissemination of new research.
The group aspires to be a supportive environment that encourages the generation, consolidation, and advancement of empirical and theoretical knowledge through specialist events, book launches, scholars-meet-activists workshops, reading groups, and a focused stream with calls for papers specifically for ASMR scholars at annual conferences.
As an inclusive scholarly community that is intimately aware of the struggles of early career researchers (ECRs) in UK Higher Education, the ASMR Study Group is committed to capacity-building opportunities for ECRs.
The group will support methodological plurality and welcome scholars working on both historical and contemporary questions, empirical and theoretical advancements, the Global North and the Global Majority. Research that not only contributes to but also critiques and expands the boundaries of the field will be encouraged.
