The AQHR Group will build on the successful impromptu symposium at the BSA Medical Sociology Conference 2012, which explored some of the issues sociologists encounter when using at ethnographic research methods. The aims of the AQHR Group are to:

  • Provide a forum for medical sociologists to discuss the practical experiences and challenges of undertaking AQHR.
  • Share experiences, resources, and good practice in relation to collaborative working and teaching/training others to conduct AQHR.
  • Establish a network of volunteer  'virtual peer-mentors' to provide support and advice for medical sociologists working in relative isolation as part of multidisciplinary applied research teams.
