Society, Materiality and the More-than-Human
An international seminar series from the BSA New Materialisms Study Group
20 June 2022 (14:00-15:00 BST)
About the Event
Following the success of our international seminars in 2021, we are pleased to announce a further series of UK and international speakers, featuring a mix of online and face-to-face presentations. The speakers are united by their focus on the more-than-human, and will provide us with much food for thought as we pursue our interest in post-anthropocentric and posthuman scholarship.
Seminar 2 - Teenage girls and the entanglement with online porn: a new feminist materialist perspective
Speaker: Professor Deevia Bhana (University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa)
Deevia Bhana is the DSI/NRF South African Research Chair in Gender and Childhood Sexuality. She is known internationally for her research with children and young people in which she seeks to understand the early formation of gendered ideologies, the experience of sexuality across the young life course, relationship dynamics, sexual and reproductive health and violence.
All seminars are free to attend, however, registration is required.
