BSA Applied Sociology Group Members' Meeting 2020

12 March 2020 (13:00-15:30)
London School of Economics, London, UK

About the Event

In 2018, the BSA Sociologists outside Academia interest group became the Applied Sociology Group (ASG).  This name change reflected the focus on promoting applied sociology. Since then the group has grown in size to over 330 members.

We hope you will be able to join us for a members’ meeting on 12 March.  We will take this opportunity to report back on our work over the past couple of years, and share plans for the future.

Our guest speaker is Ricky Gee from Nottingham Trent University, who will talk about his efforts to bring an applied sociology focus to the undergraduate sociology degree there.

The meeting will also be a chance for members to raise and discuss issues facing sociologists working in non-academic settings, and consider what the group should be doing to support this branch of sociology.
